Monaghan Freight Trip
A huge thank you to the members of staff at Monaghan Freight who went out of their way to make our trip so special.
The children were spoilt from the moment they landed, to the moment they left.
Karen and Emma provided them with Safety Hi Viz vests, while Stephen and Dermot lead a presentation on different types of transport . The children had to opportunity to ask questions and to find out about all the transport used by Monaghan Freight.
Next the children were given booklets with an 'Eye Spy' page. They were able to explore the yard looking for different types of transport. The children loved this and were so excited to spot all the different types.
The children were then split into groups. The girls went to the boardroom with Karen and Emma to complete their booklets and have their amazing snack, kindly provided by Monaghan Freight. The boys were given a guided tour of the lorry and trailer by Stephen, Dermot, Niall and Liam. They loved getting to sit in the cab and use the horn and had so much fun playing with the ride-on toy trucks around the track. The girls and boys then swapped before getting an opportunity to all play together with the ride-on trucks and the chalk.
Before going home, everyone was given a goodie bag full of lovely treats and a book about transport.
I want to say thank you to Stephen and Dermot for allowing Primary 2 to visit your company. Thank you to Emma, Niall and Liam for being so kind and attentive to us when we were there. And a huge thank you to Karen for organising the whole trip so meticulously. Karen thought of everything to make this trip so special for Primary 2. We left Monaghan Freight with full bellies, goodie bags and extra knowledge but most importantly we all have memories that will last a lifetime.
