PDMU
Personal Development and Mutual Understanding (PD&MU) focuses on encouraging each child to become personally, emotionally and socially effective, to lead healthy, safe and fulfilled lives and to become confident, independent and responsible citizens, making informed and responsible choices and decisions throughout their lives.
PDMU lessons are now integral where children can explore moral issues as well as values education. The school uses the CCEA resource Living Learning Together alongside CRED resources. CRED stands for Community Relations,Equality and Diversity in Education. The NSPCC programme Keeping Safe is delivered in every class through Fronter.
Values Education is further promoted through links with Enniskillen Model Primary School through Shared Education.
Health Education
The school has won two Gold Health Awards in recent years. Health Education infiltrates the entire curriculum. There is a healthy break policy, the munch box policy as well as a series of well-developed policies that support the entire range of health issues that apply to primary schools. Each year there is a week devoted to Health education where healthy eating is encouraged as well as taking lots of exercise. This helps to support the work carried out in Health Education throughout the year.
