P1, P2 & P3 Movie Night

31st Mar 2022

Dear Parent,

I hope the P.1., P.2. and P.3 classes enjoyed the movie night yesterday.  It was just a pleasure to see the children gather together for an event like this.  Primaries 4, 5, 6 and 7 will have their movie night next Wednesday 6th April.  Again, the time will be 6:30pm-8pm.

I want to thank the Parents’ Association who gave their time and energy to organise last night’s event.  I also want to thank the staff who supervised it.  I really appreciate you all and I am very confident that the children are the beneficiaries of events like these.  The children were also exceptionally well behaved.

We raised £282.42 and €7, thank you very much, it is much appreciated.  At present, we are fund-raising to renew the interactive white boards as well as get the interior of the school decorated.  However, events like these, are about the coming together of the children, the parents and the community in a spirit of unity and joy.

We look forward to tomorrow’s Book Character Day where the children will dress as their favourite book character.  The Book Fair will follow next week.  Claire will send a text to remind you about the Book Fair’s opening times.  We hope that our focus on books will encourage the love of reading for the children.  It is vital, that in today’s digital world, that we encourage the love of reading and books.  Not only will this support the child’s academic outputs but it is very therapeutic to get ‘lost in a good book’.

My Best Wishes to you All,

Ms. O’Neill.
