P1 Trip

The Primary 1 class will be visiting the Fermanagh Fun Farm in Lisbellaw on Friday 10th June as their end of year trip. 

P2 & P3 Trip

On Monday 13th June, the Primary 2 and Primary 3 classes will visit Happy Dayz in Dungannon as their end of year trip. Children can wear their PE kit to school on the day and please ensure that you send a coat in with your child.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service

On Monday 13th June, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service will be in school to speak to the P5 class.

Primary 4 Trip

As their end of year trip, the P4 class will go to Johnny Rocko’s in Irvinestown on Tuesday 14th June.

Spanish

Davide will continue his Spanish lessons each Thursday in June.

Primary 6 Trip

The Primary 6 class will be going to the Ardhowen Theatre on Friday 17th June to see their performance of The Untold Truth of Captain Hook. Weather permitting, the children will go from the Ardhowen to the Lakeland Forum to have a picnic and play in the park.

Primary 5 Trip

The Primary 5 class will have a trip to Topped Mountain with a bushcraft workshop and treasure hunt. More details will follow very shortly.

Mullanaskea Mini-Marathon

All classes will be participating in the Mullanaskea Mini-Marathon which will take place on Thursday 16th June with all sponsorship and money raised going towards much needed school funds.

  • Primary 1 children will do 1 lap
  • Primary 2 children will do 2 laps
  • Primary 3 children will do 3 laps
  • Primary 4, Primary 5, Primary 6 and Primary 7 will do 4 laps

Sponsorship forms have been sent out and we ask that these are returned by Thursday 16th. The class that raises the most money will get some treats!

Sports Day

Weather Permitting, the St. Patrick’s Primary School, Mullanaskea Sports Day will be held on Tuesday 21st June. There will be a change to the school dinner menu as it is Sports Days. It will be sausages and chips with an ice lolly. The Parent Association is also planning to provide refreshments for both adults and children to purchase on the day. We will be sending out a letter next week to ascertain numbers.

Post-Primary Open Days & Move-up Day

The Primary 7 children will be visiting their new Post-Primary schools on Thursday 23rd June. This will also be the day the school will have their move-up day. This is where the children will visit the classrooms and teachers they will have in September for the morning. The new Primary 1 class will also visit the school for the morning. Children from Mullanaskea Pre-School will be brought over and collected by the staff of Mullanaskea Pre-School. 
Mrs Quinn will have the first of her Induction Meetings on a Thursday 23rd June in the Primary 1 classroom at 2:30pm.

End of Year & Leavers Mass

The End of Year Mass will take place in the school on Monday 27th June at 10am.

Talent Show

The School will hold the Annual Mullanaskea Talent Show on Tuesday 28th June. Any individual or group of children are welcome to participate and show us all their talents. Every act including singing, dancing, music performances, jokes, magic, science experiments etc are all welcome!

Prize-giving

The school prize-giving will take place on Wednesday 29th June. If your child won a shield or trophy previously and it is still in your possession, please return it to the school as soon as possible.

Uniform Recycle

The PA have organised a uniform recycle. Items include trousers, skirts, polo t-shirts, PE t-shirts, pinafores/sundresses, shorts, navy leggings, school branded sweatshirts, boys/girls shoes, school wallet/ pencil cases, coats and cardigans. All items can be left from now at the school office or brought to the attention of any PA member. All items should be in for 6th July. A date will be announced for browsing/collecting items shortly. This will hopefully take place around the 2nd week of August. Keep an eye on the school Facebook page and also the PA Facebook page.

School Photographer

The proofs for the school photos have been sent home this week. If you wish to order school photos, please return your envelopes by Wednesday 15th June. Proofs are being collected by the photographer on this day to ensure all orders are at the school by the end of June.

Cycling Proficiency

Tuesday 14th June will be the last day of the cycling proficiency for the Primary 7 class. Children will stay over until 4:30pm and bicycles can be collected from then.

CORE NI

CORE NI have finished for the year but hopefully they will be returning in September for both in school lessons and After-school clubs.

Fermanagh Herald

The Primary 7 class will appear in the Fermanagh Herald’s ‘Magnificent 7s’ feature on Wednesday 15th June.

Congratulations

Congratulations to our P5 class who won at the St. Michael’s College Football Blitz on 31st May.

Primary 7 Residential 

The Primary 7s will be going to the Magilligan Field Centre on Thursday 23rd June after their post-primary open days. Children will leave the school at approximately 2:30pm and will return to the school at approximately 5pm on Friday 24th June.

Ulster GAA 

Ulster GAA will continue their coaching at the school on Mondays for P1 and P2 children.

Hurling coaching will also continue on Thursdays for P4 and P7 children.

Tempo Maguires Coaching

Oisin from Tempo Maguires will continue to come to the school for football training on Fridays for P3 and P4 children.

Brass

Mr O’Hare will continue his lessons on Tuesdays. A letter will be sent home next week RE brass payments.

Swimming

Swimming lessons will continue for the P6 and P7 children on Tuesdays. We are waiting for confirmation from the Lakeland Forum to see when these lessons conclude.

Milk

The final milk instalment payment is now due. Please send £13 with your child, clearly marked ‘milk money’ by Monday 20th June. Please ensure your child knows they should be taking milk as currently we have quite a few left over at the end of each day.

After-school Soccer 

Davide will conclude the Afterschool football club this Monday, the 13th June.

School Closures

The school will close at 12 noon on Thursday 30th June. There will be no school meals or buses in the afternoon.
