BNF Healthy Eating Week 2020
28 September to 4 October 2020
This year’s BNF Healthy Eating Week will last seven days and run from 28 September to 4 October 2020.
The aim of the Week is to bring the UK together for a dedicated Week, focusing on key health messages and promoting healthy habits. This year’s health challenges are:
- Eat more wholegrains (Monday);
- Vary your veg (Tuesday);
- Drink plenty (Wednesday);
- Move more (Thursday);
- Be mind kind (Friday);
- Get active together (Saturday)*;
- Eat together (Sunday)*.
- *The Get active together and Eat together challenges are intended to highlight the importance of undertaking activities together. Social distancing rules will need to be applied depending on personal and local circumstances. For example, at the present time, a family unit could be active together (e.g. walking), and eat and enjoy food together at home.
- In school we are encouraging the children to bring in and eat a piece of fruit everyday at snack times to add to their ‘5-a-day’.
- The children will all participate in the ‘daily mile’ challenge each day in school. The Daily Mile is a social physical activity, with children running or jogging – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. We want every child to have the opportunity to do ‘The Daily Mile’ so your child will need to bring a coat for this activity.
