A letter from Dr O’Neill

24th Apr 2020

Dear Parent,

It is good to speak to you. I hope that this correspondence finds you and your child/children well. I just want to let you know that I miss you all. I miss the joy that the children bring, I miss their noise and their energy.

I miss the contact with you whether it is on the telephone, in person or just to wave to you in the afternoons.

I am particularly thinking of the P7.s who are missing their rite of passage with all the fun things we plan for them at this time of year.

I am in contact with the staff. Each person has asked me to express how much you are missed. I hope that home schooling is going ok. It can never compensate for a day in the classroom but it is the best we can do for now. Remember we are all ‘in the same boat' and just have to look to better days to come: and they will come!

If there is anything you need help or support with contact the school via the e- mail system and I will do my best to return to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, the school remains open for key worker children.

Please stay safe and give my love to each and every child. Each of them is on my mind. I often go through the classes in my head and recall them all. It is a cliché to say each child is special and unique but they really are. I would give anything to just have a normal day with them all at Mullanaskea.

My VERY Best Wishes to You All,

Ms. O’Neill.
