Safety Grounds 2021

1st Nov 2021

                                           1//11/’21

Dear Parent,

On behalf of all the staff, I would like to extend a big welcome to you and your children as we return to school after the Hallowe’en break.

In order to ensure safety at all levels, I wish to stress the importance of placing safety as a priority in our car park and school grounds. We ask you to park your car and then walk to collect or drop off your child/children. The children must be accompanied by an adult in the car parking area.  Please do not park on the bus lanes.  Parking on this area means that the children cannot safely embark or disembark to and from the bus.  Cars must drive slowly and safely through the school grounds.  Each child’s safety is at risk if you do otherwise.  In particular, I am concerned about the area outside the P.1. classroom.  Please do not park there.  There is one family who have a drop-off arrangement in this area.  Apart from this, cars are still parking there.  I ask you not to do this.  It is compromising the safety of children, parents, grandparents and the staff chaperoning outside.

This is a message for us all, including myself.  None of us are exempt from having an accident.  Accidents happen all too easily and cause years of remorse, loss and regret.  It may take a few minutes more to park and walk your child to the door but safety must prevail.

I hope that every child has a really fulfilling school year and ask you to support me with the safety issues that I have identified.

Best Wishes,

Ms. O’Neill.
