November Newsletter

Anti-Bullying Week

This year, Anti-Bullying Week will run the week of Monday 16th November.

School Dinners

Just a reminder that the school dinners are £2.60 each day and all money is to be brought in on a Monday morning unless told otherwise. We will shortly be given a new dinner menu that will start on Monday 23rd of November. Once we receive it, we will put it up on the school website.

School Nurse

The School Nursing Team will be in the school on Tuesday 1st December to administer to flu vaccinations. All letters have been returned to them and they will not be able to accept any late returns.

Milk

The cost of the milk is £40 for the year or £15 for this term (September-December). If you have not already done so, please send it into the school on Monday 9th November.

We Have an App!

Our school is now listed in the Schools NI app, which allows you to view school updates and receive messages via your phone or tablet. The app is available on both Apple and Android devices, and will give you access to our school’s news, calendar events and letters. Information on how to download the app is on your child’s ‘Homework’ page of the school website. Please note that this is not a payment app but an app that will provide you with information when it is uploaded onto the school website. This is to reduce the number of text messages sent to you telling you to check the website. We are hoping that at some point in the future this will be the only way we will be communicating to you. This is a free app so please download. There is also no limit on how many people download the app

Brass

Brass will continue for Primary 7 pupils every Tuesday.

Shoe Box Appeal

Before the Halloween Holidays, information was put up on our school website about this year’s shoebox appeal. This year, they are encouraging people to create a shoebox online. For more information, please see the school website.

Electronic Testing for pupils

We will be starting our online testing of children in Primary 3 up to Primary 7 early next week. Instead of using the computers and laptops we will be using the ipads which will be cleaned before and after every pupil. Instructions, questions and some comprehension pieces are read to the children so we ask you to send in a pair of earphones for each of your children in a zip/sandwich bag with their name and class clearly marked. These earphones will be kept in school to be used for the testing throughout the year. It would be great if we could have them in as soon as possible so we can get started. Please note this does not apply to children in Primary 1 and Primary 2.

Reminder:

Please note that children are to be dropped off in the morning at the previously used Staff car park directly opposite the school. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and do not loiter around the school after dropping your children off or collecting them.
